This week, I got copies of my forthcoming police-procedural mystery The Squad, the first in the three-book (so far) Major Crimes Squad: Phoenix series. It’s available for preorder now, wherever books are sold, and it officially launches on September 27. The second book, The Storm, follows on October 18, and The Castle arrives in November.

Marsheila (Marcy) Rockwell‘s new book, Sisters of Sorcery–featuring Clea and other female magic-users from the Marvel Comics universe–was supposed to launch a week earlier, on September 20, but now it looks like that might be pushed back a week. Which I guess makes our books twins, because they’re being birthed by us at the same time.

In other publishing-related news, I’ve had a short story accepted for a mystery anthology coming out in 2023, and it concerns a side character from the MCS: Phoenix series, but that’s about all I can say about it now. I got paid this week for a western story that’ll be in anthology later this year, and I saw proofs of yet another western anthology that I have a story in, but I don’t know how much I can say yet about either of those. Obviously, I’ll post when they’re closer to release.
I’m in the process of researching a major new novel, as well as fiddling around with various comic/graphic novel ideas with various artists. So 2023 will be busy, but not as crazed as 2021-22. At least, that’s my goal.
