MCS 3: The Castle and No TusCon for Us

Posted on

During 2022, I had a lot of books released–the three book Cody Cavanaugh Western series, Tarzan and the Forest of Stone, and then the three book Major Crimes Squad: Phoenix procedural thriller series. The Castle, the third of these, is out on Tuesday, November 8. That’ll be the last new book release for a while, though, so you can spend some of your book budget supporting other writers (like Marsheila Rockwell, f’rinstance).

You can read about The Castle at the link above, and find purchase links there (and it’s free on Kindle Unlimited, if you’re one of those folks–I prefer print books, but I know that doesn’t work for everyone).

Anyway, I don’t have any additional books contracted at the moment. I expect to have a contract in hand soon for a very cool 2023 release. And I have a couple of books that I want to write when I have time. There are new short stories out, including “The Strongbox” in the terrific Western Fictioneers anthology Over Western Trails, and more coming soon that I’ll mention when I know their publication details. So you’ll be able to read new stuff from me, just not every month.

In other news, Marcy and I were looking forward to attending TusCon 49 next weekend. But Marcy is in truly incredible amounts of pain from what’s likely a disc issue, and is waiting to see her neurosurgeon about it. In the meantime, she can’t sit in a car or function at a convention, and we’re sadly having to skip that trip. We’re all bummed about it, even the kids, who we were taking with us. There will be lots of other great guests in attendance, so if you can make it, do so! We’re sorry we won’t see you.

Also, Tuesday is election day in the U.S. If you’ve already voted, great! If not, go vote! We have a great democracy here. Let’s use it and keep it!
